Find the hidden animal.
Name any animal from the field guide. You learn the ancestor it shares with the hidden one, and pay that ancestor’s age from your 2,000 million years of deep time. The closer your guess, the cheaper it is.

Your Tree
Every daily animal you find joins your own branch of the tree of life, placed where the published synthesis puts it. Tap a name to open it in Scorcher Tree.
Where the ages come from. Each ancestor’s age is the one Scorcher Tree shows: the central estimate of a published molecular-clock interval, or the minimum of a published fossil calibration. Where only a bound is known, the bound is used. The relationships are the Open Tree of Life synthesis. Ages are rounded to the nearest million years.
